Maude Barlow, Greg Palast, and Americans with Disabilities

Despite what you learned in science class in school, Maude Barlow says, it is in fact possible for the Earth to be running out of water. Pollution and population are on the rise, and corporations encroach on the water rights of people around the world, fencing off and bottling up a natural resource that should be available to all.

The F Word: Americans With Disabilities Did the Impossible

Events were held across the country Monday to mark the twentieth anniversary of the signing of the landmark Americans with Disabilities Act. At a ceremony at the White House, disability rights activists made the point that passing the law was only the start. "Civil rights laws do not self-enforce, " said Marca Bristo, "They only come to life when enlightened citizens...push the envelope."
